Enhanced PAGASA-DOST website, launched

Named by a web traffic data provider as the most visited government website, The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA-DOST) launched its newly refurbished website early February 2014.

Designed and developed by web development Philippines leader ICONCEPT GLOBAL ADVERTISING INC., the new PAGASA website (web.pagasa.dost.gov.ph) offers a more comprehensive source of important information.

Patrick Tulabot, Project Manager for PAGASA website, shared that what makes the project really challenging is the fact that the website plays a very crucial role in disseminating information about one of the most pressing topics today – weather.  “We wanted to deliver a website that is at par with other international weather agency websites.  Of course, all these efforts are aimed at improving the manner of updating the Filipino nation.”

 

Project Brief

What client wanted to achieve is a website that is secured from attacks, and easy to navigate and update.  Furthermore, the following special features were also integrated.

Latest Weather Forecasts.  System that allows each department admin to publish alerts, warnings and notifications related to their scope of work.

Visual Weather Map (Philippines).  Displays the map of the Philippines with dynamic weather icons to represent different weather conditions on selected regions of the country.

Philippine Weather Satellite Feed.  Automatically pulls the images sent by the Philippine weather satellite and animates it in a specific section of your website.

NEW PAGASA WEBSITEFor his part, Creative Director Dingdong Gonzales, Jr. said that the start of the present business year is marked by grand website launching of several big names in the industry.

Aside from PAGASA, websites of two celebrated universities, a proudly Filipino wine brand, and an exceptional photography studio were also launched during the first two months of 2014.

 

A busy quarter
